Anbessa flour and pasta factory, a leading manufacturer of various pasta and macaroni, was established in 1947 by Greek Investors and was then transferred to government ownership.

East African Group (Eth.) Ltd. acquired the company from the Government in December 1996 and was then named East African Group (Eth.) Ltd Anbessa Flour and Pasta Factory.

When the factory was transferred to EAG, some of the machines operating then were completely outdated and below standards, thus the company managed to replace the then existing machines with Pasta and Macaroni producing plant from Italy and was soon functional.

Currently the daily production capacity of the factory is:

  • Wheat grinding capacity – 800 qt.
  • Flour Producing capacity – 550 qt.
  • Macaroni producing capacity – 200 qt.
  • Spaghetti producing capacity – 105 qt.
  • Fodder producing capacity – 204 qt.

Anbessa Flour and Pasta P.L.C. currently employ a total of 251 employees.
